What is Off-diary?

The monthly newsletter (formerly weekly) that might make your commute more bearable, or entertain you over lunch or become a regular bedtime read…

Hello, reader. Thank you for being here and allow me to explain. This is my newsletter and it’s called Off-diary.

  • What does off-diary mean?

An off-diary story is one discovered through a journalist’s own observation, investigation, initiative, or communication with contacts.

  • How is Off-diary going to work?

Every month I will write up an off-diary story and publish it for your reading pleasure. It’s as simple as that.

  • What kind of stories will feature?

I’m reluctant to categorise them too rigidly because the story could be inspired by a celebrity encounter I have had at a glamorous event, or a write up of an interview I had with a source for an article that didn’t get commissioned, or my take on a current trend or news story that everyone is talking about, or just a personal essay on any topic.

  • How much does Off-diary cost to read?

There are two options…

  1. Free subscription = you can enjoy the newsletter every month which will go behind a paywall two weeks after receipt.

  1. Paid subscriptions = for either £4 per month, or £40 per year (£3.33 per month) you can enjoy the newsletter a whole day before the free subscribers, you will have unlimited access to the archive, and you get a special audio version of the newsletter sometimes including original recordings of celeb interviews and other clips!

If you want to start on the free version you can always upgrade to paid at any time. Your support means everything!

So without further ado, welcome to Off-diary. . .
